More Information

Ballet

Starting with our preparatory class for the 3 – 4 year olds.

Little children love to dance and move. In these classes not only do they have the opportunity to do
this but we also encourage them to develop confidence, poise whilst having having fun and meeting
new friends. Lots of props are used in this class to help develop these skills.

From the age of 5 years the classes are designed to develop the childrens physical and creative skills through the use of musicality, creativity and individual interpretation. The Pre Primary/Primary Classes are the base layer for transitioning into the higher ballet grades or into other dance genres.

From the age of 5 years children ( if they wish) start taking the graded examinations.

As children then progress through the levels they continue to develop the disciplines of Ballet as well as developing musicality and performance skills.

Tap

From age 4 years.

A lively class which is based on rhythmic and percussive sounds. This is a fun
class and developed from the legendary artists of Fred Astaire ad more recent artist such as Stomp
and Tap dogs. Examinations in BTDA are offered.

Modern Dance,

Also includes the Lyrical Modern

This is a more energetic style of dance. Following the BTDA syllabus the student builds strength and flexibility whilst also developing
musicality and performance skills.

Shows & Workshops

From age 4 years.

The children all get the opportunity to perform in shows, workshops, fetes and performance awards. It is up to the parent to decide whether that is something they wish there child to take part in.
